Yoga practices involve physical and mental exercises, which may be strenuous, and it is strongly recommended that you seek advice from your doctor before commencing any exercise routine or practice to ensure that it is suitable for you.

You agree to inform the instructor of any injuries, medical conditions, or pregnancy before attending a class, and to take full responsibility for your own health and well-being during the session. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to modify poses where necessary and to work within your own limits.

If you are pregnant, you confirm that you have consulted with your doctor or midwife and that you will practise safely within your own limits, adapting movements as needed.

If at any time during the session, you feel discomfort or strain, gently come out of the posture. Rest is encouraged at any point during the class when you feel that you need it; there is never any judgment. It is important in Yoga to listen to your body and respect its limits on any given day.

The practice of yoga asanas requires you to gauge the safety of your practice within your personal physical limitations. Physical exercise, including yoga, can result in injury.Any person taking Flowing with Beth's classes takes full responsibility for themselves.

The techniques and suggestions presented in Flowing with Beth's yoga classes are not intended to substitute for medical practice. Consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise programme.

Styles

Hatha

Hatha yoga is a practice combining postures (asana), breath work (pranayama), and meditation. Poses are often held for several breaths, giving you time to tune into your body, release tension, and cultivate strength, flexibility, and balance.

I teach through a somatic lens, offering gentle, invitational cues that encourage curiosity, mindful movement, and a deeper connection to yourself.

If you are new to yoga or seeking a gentler pace, Foundational Hatha focuses on the essential foundations of our practice, offering extra guidance to help build confidence and comfort on the mat.

Yin

Yin yoga is a slow-paced practice that combines Hatha yoga with ancient Daoist principles.

Postures are held for 3-5 minutes with a focus on relaxation and minimal pressure, targeting deep tissues like fascia. This approach also helps calm the mind, regulates the nervous system and enhances body awareness.

Yin yoga balances the "yang" energy of modern life — social pressures, rigidity, and stress —by encouraging stillness and acceptance.
